Geostock is responsible for the administrative management and operation of the French underground storage sites Geosel-Manosque and Geogaz-Lavera on behalf of the storage facilities’ shareholders.

 

Geosel-Manosque

The underground storage complex for liquid hydrocarbons in salt leached caverns at Geosel-Manosque has a capacity of 7.5 million m3. It came on stream in 1969 and has 27 storage caverns, one brine production cavern, plus two caverns under construction.

The Geostock personnel manages and operates the storage facility for Geosel under conditions of optimal safety.

The Geogaz-Lavera underground storage site for liquefied hydrocarbons includes: 

  • a 120,000 m3 storage facility for commercial propane that came on stream in 1971,
  • an underground storage facility for butane that started up in 1984 and has two separate caverns:
    • one 49,500 m3 cavern for commercial butane,
    • one 133,500 m3 cavern for chemical quality butane.
