Géométhane is a company specialised in the field of underground natural gas storage. It is equally owned by Geosud and Storengy.
Géométhane owns a natural gas storage facility in Manosque (South of France) with a capacity of 300 Million m3, which comprises:
- 7 leached-salt caverns,
- surface installations, distributed on two sites about 2500 m apart:
- the collection site at Le Gontard,
- the compression, treatment and metering facilities at Gaude.
Located in the sensitive area of the Regional Natural Park of the Lubéron, the installations received special attention as regards environmental protection, in close cooperation with the the Park authorities and the local communities.
The marketing services to third parties and the site operation are carried out by Storengy.
Géosel-Manosque provides access to various installations.
Géostock provides technical and administrative assistance.
The site’s development is carrying on with the future creation of new leached-salt caverns for which GEOSTOCK will ensure engineering and supervision of construction, and the extension of the existing surface installations.
